Open Call For Lecturers: Department of Chemistry

Applications are invited for possible temporary Lecturer positions beginning Fall Quarter 2018. Applicants must have demonstrated experience in teaching or show a strong promise in teaching. The positions are open to applicants from all Chemistry areas. Candidates are preferred to have a PhD in Chemistry.

Fall Quarter 2018 applications will be reviewed beginning September 11, 2018 and remain open until filled. Winter Quarter 2019 applications will be reviewed beginning December 1, 2018 and remain open until filled. Spring Quarter 2019 applications will be reviewed February 1, 2019 and remain open until filled.

Once selected for a position, proof of other teaching position percentages within the same quarter at other public higher educational institutions and approval from the primary employer will be required.

This is an open call for Lecturers for the entire 2018-2019 Academic Year and the posting will remain open until the positions for Spring Quarter 2019 have been confirmed. Department of Chemistry, University of California at Riverside Position:
Postdoctoral Scholars – Organometallic Chemistry and Catalysis

A postdoctoral research position is available in the group of Professor Richard Schrock at the University of California at Riverside, with a starting date as soon as June 3, 2019. The initial position is for one year, with possible extension based on satisfactory performance.

The research topic will be synthesis and chemistry of molybdenum alkylidene complexes and their potential as catalysts for olefin metathesis. The candidate should have experience in the synthesis and handling of air-sensitive compounds, mechanistic studies, and catalysis.

Candidates should have obtained their Ph.D. in organometallic chemistry or in a closely related research area. Interested candidates should contact Professor R. R. Schrock directly at
