Dr. Zhang has been selected to receive the 2014 Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research. Dr. Zhang has mentored 32 undergraduate research students. Seven of Dr. Zhang's UG students have been coauthors in peer-reviewed publications, and 19 have made scholarly presentations at conferences. Dr. Zhang has also mentored three Honors Thesis projects. Dr. Zhang will be recognized at the 2014 spring commencement ceremonies.
