Dr. Yadong Yin has been selected the the 2025 AAAS Fellow! In 2025, the AAAS Council elected 449 members as Fellows of AAAS. Election as a Fellow honors members whose efforts on behalf of the advancement of science or its applications in service to society have distinguished them among their peers and colleagues.
These faculty members were chosen for the widespread and significant impact they’ve had in their respective research fields. Reviewers looked not just at how often their work is cited by other researchers, but also at strong evidence, both quantitative and qualitative, that their discoveries are helping shape the direction of science, technology, and higher education.
Dr. Linlin Zhao involved in Mitochondrial DNA research in which mitochondrial DNA repair prevents inflammation. “If we can retain the DNA inside the mitochondria, we might be able to prevent those downstream signals that cause inflammation,” Zhao said.
